Kinnettles Castle is delighted to be working hand in hand with award-winning chef Adam Newth, from The Tayberry Restaurant in Broughty Ferry.

The Arbroath born chef is the current Young Scottish Chef of the Year and was named Scotland’s Young Seafood Chef of the Year in 2015. Adam excels at using only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients and throughout his short career, has continuously set out to celebrate Scotland’s natural larder.

In addition to the accolades already mentioned, Hollywood actor Brian Cox scored Adam 9/10 in both The Scotsman and The Herald.

Adam will add a professional and enhanced culinary flair to both Kinnettles venues, and will undoubtedly impress all those dining at our establishments.

Adam will oversee private menu tastings for your wedding day, and will ensure you are satisfied with your menu choices. Adam will also be on hand to produce the most lavish meals for all those using Kinnettles Castle as their own private retreat.

Adam has been running his own restaurant The Tayberry since 2015, and we are delighted that he has agreed to work collaboratively with Kinnettles Castle in Angus and Kinnettles Hotel in St Andrews.

ADAM NEWTH

Originally from the seaside town of Arbroath, Adam started cooking from the young age of just 15.

Working his way up the chef ranks in his quickly progressive career, Adam started working in Michelin star restaurants all over Scotland at just aged 18. Teamwork is at the heart of all The Tayberry restaurant strives to achieve. Led and nurtured by Chef Proprietor Adam Newth, his fresh and dynamic team reflect his dedicated work ethic and ambition to go from strength to strength.

Adam is passionate about discovering new talent and developing it for the future and is always keen to hear from aspiring chefs and front of house staff with an interest in a career in hospitality.

 

A notable milestone in Adam’s career has been a recommendation for his restaurant to become Michelin Star rated.
